Train of a child

A few days ago, I had a conversation with a friend about the importance of a strong Family belief system. It is indeed within the walls of a family that birth the foundation of a child’s holistic well being. Yesterday during the Biblympics among Christian Schools in Tarlac, I saw this child resting on a shaded grassy area of the quadrangle; and, a verse printed on the back of his P.E. t-shirt caught my attention.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
–Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)

I couldn’t agree more with the truth this verse conveys. Indeed, training begins within the safety pillars of a family. One thing God reminded me of this verse is that, as a teacher, it is also my obligation to train up every child that comes into my classroom the way he/she should go. Families and schools must take the rudder so seriously on investing things that pertain to life and godliness into the lives of these children.

Praise Jesus for making this simple encounter so jam-packed with His heart for people! Tough work? Yes, but with God on our side, how can we lose? [Romans 8:31b]
